The CDT & HE faculty is an exciting corridor within the school, where digital and active learning are a key focus for learning and teaching. There are 5 members of teaching staff and auxiliary support in both subjects.

From S1, you can learn in several different environments. These include the computer suite, fabric room, kitchens, and workshops. Your experiences in these areas will allow you to build skills and knowledge in food and fabric preparation, working with a variety of textiles, materials and ingredients, CAD Modelling and 3D printing, plus a range of projects to develop design and craft skills. As a faculty we strive to ensure that our tools, software, and apparatus reflect those used in industry to give you a real-world experience in your learning.

In S1 and S2, you will come to each area of the faculty for 1 period a week. Your experiences at this stage will give you a taste of the variety of learning available within Craft, Design and Technology and Home Economics. In S3, you can choose to further personalise your learning, and you will increase your time spent in the department to 3 periods.

Currently within the Senior Phase, you can study Hospitality: Practical Cookery, Practical Cake Craft and Practical Woodworking to National 5 level. Graphic Communication can be studied to Higher Level. We will also be introducing Early Learning and Childcare and Engineering Skills for next session.
