College Update

MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL RE ARRANGEMENTS FOR START OF TERM.

Good Afternoon,

I am writing to notify you of a change to SCP arrangements for the start of term in January 2022.

As you are aware the escalating Covid -19 situation and the rapid spread of the Omicron variant is causing national concern.

Government guidance to Scottish Colleges and Universities is different from guidance for schools. As a result the college has been asked to cease on campus face to face teaching until the 24th January. Therefore, the decision has been made to deliver SCP classes through online teaching from Monday 10 January 2022 until 24th January (to be reviewed).

Edinburgh College is extremely sorry for this situation which we know will impact on pupils and schools. However, this decision has been taken in line with national guidance to protect pupils and staff to limit the virus spread.

SCP/FA and ACE pupils remain a priority group and we plan to resume face-to-face, on campus teaching as soon as it is safe to do so. We will continue to monitor Government and Public Health guidance and any changes will be communicated as soon as possible.

All SCP pupils will receive an email with instructions on setting up their online college account and will be supported by the Schools Team. Pupils and staff can speak with a team member on the SCP helpline 0131 297 8649. This information will also be provided for Pupil Support Teams and SDS Advisers.

Assistant Principal for Student Experience
