Continued School Closure Friday 2nd March

Dear students, parents and families

As many of you will already be aware, the decision for all schools to remain closed tomorrow, Friday 2nd March was announced through the Council website and Twitter earlier today. http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/emergencyclosures

Our Education Convener, Councillor Ian Perry has also written about why decisions to close schools are not taken lightly:

I hope that this early announcement gives families a chance to make arrangements for child care. I also hope that students, particularly senior students preparing for exams, are able to use this unexpected free time as productively as possible. To that end, staff have been sharing resources and study materials through their Twitter accounts, Edmodo and office 365.

As stated in the official Council communication, we expect to be open for business on Monday and I look forward to seeing everyone back safely.

Best wishes

Stephen Rafferty
