Empowered Learning – School iPads

EMPOWERED LEARNING PROJECT

All Parents are required to complete the following Microsoft Form in advance.

Empowered Learning iPad Project: All parents and students to complete

Empowered Learning is a City of Edinburgh project which aims to provide every student with an iPad to support learning throughout their years at school. Due to our experience and status as a Scottish Digital School, Forrester has been categorised as an ‘Elevate’ school. This means that we will be one of the first schools to embark on this project and will launch Empowered Learning in the week beginning 10th January. All students will be part of this project whether or not they already have a school iPad.

What does this mean for you?

Group 1: Students without an iPad will be issued with a new iPad

Group 2: Students with older iPads will have their iPads replaced with a newer version

Group 3: Students who already have a newer iPad will need to be migrated to a new platform.

We will inform students, in advance, which group they fall into – this depends on which generation of iPad they currently have.

On Monday 10h January, all student iPads will be locked and unusable, until they move to the new system. Throughout the week we will have support from external colleagues to help us manage the process.

Before we issue and replace devices, we need all parents to complete the following Microsoft Form. This includes some further detail about the project, as well as the Home-School Agreement and Responsible User Agreement. Parents are asked to read these carefully and complete the questions in the Form. Please do this with your child by Friday 17th December.
