Head Teacher Update 20/8/23

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

It was great to see everyone back last week and I wanted to write to thank you all for the positive start. Everyone was well prepared for the return and looking fantastic in full dress code, with S4-6 really leading by example.

Our new S1 have made an excellent start and are already starting to find their way around the building (ably assisted by the outstanding S6 buddies).

Senior Team 2023-24

Last week, our new Senior Team were selected through a rigorous process, culminating in final interviews on Thursday. Mr Ennis and Mrs Forbes were blown away by the calibre of candidates and found it difficult to come to a decision. After much deliberation, the new Senior Team are as follows:

School Captain Connor Crabbe 6R2
School Vice-Captains Katie Watson 6R1 and Millie Lockie 6R2
Burns House Captains Emma Rennie 6B1 and Emily Paterson 6B1
Redpath House Captains Heidi Saunders 6R2 and Jamie Ewen 6R1
Telford House Captains Ellie Watson 6T1 and Jessica Grant 6T2

School Website

A reminder that information to support your child’s learning can be found on the School Website, linked below.

Forrester High School Edinburgh

In particular, I would encourage students (and parents and carers) to familiarise themselves with the Student Zone, where they will find information about:

  • Achievement and Opportunities
  • Careers
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Library Resources
  • Student Participation
  • Study

It’s never too early to start to organise your study, and our Study Page contains useful tips and advice, as well as links to resources, for all learners.

Finally, I look forward to seeing everyone back for the first Monday of the school year, and to meeting students in House Assemblies during the week.

Thanks and best wishes
