PE plays an important part in education and is particularly important in laying the foundations of a healthy lifestyle both in teenage years and in later life. We make every effort to give experience in a wide range of activities, from mountain biking to fitness classes to golf.
The Scottish Government is concerned about the fitness levels and inactivity of young people and about health problems that may emerge as a result in the future. Regular exercise is vital to health. This course offers 120 minutes of physical Education each week. This is a bare minimum designed to help contribute to personal fitness and to the enjoyment of activity.
Core PE- Physical Education remains a core subject in the curriculum for everyone in S4-5. S4 pupils will have two periods a week and S5 students will have one.
